With sleek crisp lines and an ultra thin profile, the 32LC56 finds itself at the forefront of flat panel design.
We have to mention built quality too which is absolutely top notch and on par with any other LCD manufacturer.
High Definition TV (HDTV) means that a TV can broadcast signals of at least 720p or 1080i via any of the TVs inputs, usually the component-input.
A television, such as the LG LCD 32LC56, with progressive scanning can generate a picture in a single pass, in a similar way to a computer screen. A standard television uses an interlacing format, alternating lines 50 times a second, creating a full image 25 times a second. Through progressive scanning the television scans all the lines on the television in succession, and does a full screen with all lines 50 times a second, resulting in double the frame rate and higher picture quality.
The picture format of the TV.
4:3 - The standard picture format is 4:3 - which is the relation between the width and height of the TV screen. This is the almost square picture format that has been prevalent in the home since TV was first invented.
Widescreen - Otherwise known as 16:9. Just like the standard format it also indicates the relation between the breadth and height of the TV screen.
Widescreen is a format more adapted to the human field of vision, and a better format for viewing cinema films.

32LC56 Standards
LG 32LC56 - HD Ready - What is it?
A third party organisation called EICTA came up with a standard which
allows consumers to clearly see which TVs will connect to an HDTV video source and allow them to appreciate HDTV pictures. This standard has
four points that a TV must meet:
1. The TV must be a widescreen model
2. The TV must have an analogue video connection that supports
HDTV (component)
3. The TV must have a digital video connection that supports HDTV
and HDCP copy protection (HDMI or DVI)
4. The TV must have a minimum of 720 lines horizontal resolution.
Information on widescreen
The 32LC56 TV model is ready for the digital switch over because it has an integrated digital tuner. This is sometimes referred to as a Freeview tuner or as an iDTV. TVs with this technology are able
to receive all of the 30 free to air digital channels and the 10 pay TV channels from Top Up TV (Subscription and CAM required).
